Brief History (site plan)
  • Originally the site was the Adelaide Electric Supply Company facility supplying power, office and other meter testing and evaluation facilities, built in the 1920's & 1930's.
  • Underground facilities solid construction including many underground tunnels to cater for any war time requirements etc (Remembering the period when that was standard design in Government facilities) but now have been sealed up.
  • This also now provides for buildings which are of substantial strength and size which ironically aids the thermal efficiencies saving energy costs versus today's modern construction styles which tend not have thermal efficiencies in mind.
  • Eventually became ETSA (Electricity Trust of South Australia in 1946 a Government Utility supplying Power to South Australia), and became a major facility to ETSA having workshops, meter testing and laboratory facilities, office and central data computing facilities until 1992.
  • The center was sold in early January 1997 to the current owners and redeveloped into a business center.
